Assam Tense After Tinsukia Killings & 12-Hour State Bandh Today

GUWAHATI: The statewide bandh called by various organisations on Saturday in protest against the killings of five Bengali-speaking people by unidentified armed gang of miscreants at Dhola in Tinsukia district of Assam. However, the ULFA has refuted all allegations of its involvement in the killing. The Assam government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh and a job for the next of the kin of the deceased.
