And now IMA has its own Bhawan at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the newly constructed Indian Medical Association Bhawan at Dharamshala in Kangra district last evening.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that medical profession was the noble profession dedicated and committed towards the service of suffering humanity. He said that it was heartening to know that the members of the IMA were working towards a noble cause of helping the poor and needy and assured all possible help from the State Government. He said that medical  profession required lot of dedication, commitment and hard work.

Jai Ram Thakur said that although a small state, Himachal Pradesh has made a special place in several sectors. He said that the State was way ahead from most big States of the country in several health indicators. He said that the State Government was endeavouring to strengthen health institutions in the State with men and machinery. He said that the State today has six Medical College in Government sector alone and one was functioning in private sector. He said that efforts of the State Government was to provide quality health services to the people of the State nearer to their home.

Chief Minister expressed his pleasure over the commitment and zeal of the members of IMA to work for the service of suffering humanity. He said that the service of the humanity was indeed the service of the God.He announced Rs 10 lakh for the IMA Dharamshala for expansion of its activities.

Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that IMA was rendering a great service in helping the suffering humanity. He said that the State Government was ensuring effective implementation of ‘Ayushman Bharat’ in the State. He urged the doctors to sensitise the people to come forward to avail the benefits of the Scheme.

Spokesman of IMA Dr. Atul Mahajan welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that to facilitate the patients specialists would be invited from other states.

Dr Attar Singh detailed various activities being undertaken by the Association. He said that the members of Indian Medical Association would provide free services to the needy patients in the Bhawan. He said that tests of patients would be done on no profit no loss basis.
