NEW DELHI: Of late, a major change has taken place in the Indian politics. The man, who was considered invincible and unbeatable on the electoral battle, lost five states with one stroke of bad luck. These states were Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram.

At least, earlier, three states were considered the stronghold of the BJP. It had ruled almost for 15 years uninterrupted.

But the fortune changed not for this party, but for its entire leadership also. Very soon, it is being said that this might be the last chance for the Prime Minister Modi to show his mettle in the forthcoming general election as it happened with the unfortunate, L.K Advani. However, it will be too early to reach any such conclusion.

No doubt, the precarious situation of the farmers, huge unemployment of youth and some blunder changes on the economic front like demonetization and GST (Goods Service Tax) played a major role in the BJP’s crushing and humiliating defeat.

In Rajasthan, it was more than that. There was internal fight within the ruling party, the BJP and its outgoing chief minister, Vasundhra Raje. She did not enjoy the confidence and good rapport with the central leadership, especially with Amit Shah and PM, Modi.

I don’t know what the personal reasons were, but it proved costly to the party. And the person like very enigmatic and hardworking, Sachin Pilot did not loss the chance to reap a good electoral harvest after sowing the healthy seed of his political labor in all over the state. He worked hard since he took charge of the state as its president of the Congress Party.

Finally, his labor born the desired fruit and now he is serving as the deputy CM of the state, though he deserved to be placed on the CM post duly.

He was born on 7th September, 1977 to a politician parents, late Rajesh Pilot and Rama Pilot. Rajesh Pilot was a very respectable member of the Congress Party when he was alive and had worked very closely with the late PM, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. His stint as an air force pilot was another milestone of his life.

Rama Pilot has also served many times as a member of the legislative Assembly and the Member of Parliament. But after her husband’s unfortunate death, she fully devoted to the political upbringing of his son.

Sachin Pilot proved himself as a dark horse once he got the chance to enter the enigmatic and very challenging field of politics. He soon made his own mark by getting elected from the Ajmer constituency of Rajasthan during the 15th Lok Sabha. He soon rode to new heights and got the chance to serve as the Minister of Corporate Affairs in the second Manmohan Singh Government.

He studied at the Air Force Bal Bharati School, New Delhi, and holds a B.A. from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi, a diploma in marketing from I.M.T. Ghaziabad and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

He was employed with the Delhi Bureau of the British Broadcasting Corporation for a brief period of time, and then with American multinational corporation General Motors.

He got married with Sara Abdullah on 15 January 2004. Sara Abdullah is the daughter of Farooq Abdullah, the National Conference and ex-Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Now, they are proud parents of two sons, Aaran and Vehaan.

In the 2018 Legislative Assembly elections, Pilot won from the Tonk seat.  He has also authored a book, titled, Rajesh Pilot: In Spirit Forever, with his sister Sarika Pilot.

It is a great honor and privilege for me also that I personally know the Pilot family closely since the last three years. I worked on many projects with the mother of Sachin Pilot, Mrs. Rama Pilot. And it is a cause of immense happiness for me that now Sachin Pilot has been giving his service as the deputy chief Minister of Rajasthan.

I wish him a great success in life. May God bring such more laurels to him.
