302 Dead In Maharashtra Due To Swine Flu This Year, How To Prevent Your Family From Swine Flu

The H1N1 virus is also known as Swine flu is a respiratory disease which is caused by the influenza virus that infects pigs, resulting in a cough, decreased appetite and nasal secretion. 

MUMBAI: A total of 302 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra this year due to swine flu.The officer advised that people should immediately go to a doctor when they experience a flu-like symptom.

This virus can also infect humans and other animals. Swine Flu can spread from person to person and considered very contagious.

“However, the deaths due to swine flu have significantly declined this year. While around 700 people died in 2017, the death toll this year has touched 302 so far.

The official further advised people to visit doctor immediately if they experience a flu-like symptom. “The most number of cases of swine flu has been reported from Nashik, Pune and Satara.

In 2018, a vaccine to prevent swine flu was administered free of cost to 54000 people in Maharashtra between January and May this year, Health Minister Deepak Sawant had informed.

State Health Minister Deepak Sawant said the guidelines were issued after his department took note of the increasing number of cases reported from Pune, Satara, Nashik and other parts of the State.
