Massive Water Logging In Mumbai Due To Heavy Rainfall

Maharashtra Education Minister declares holiday today in all schools and colleges in Mumbai Metropolitant Region due to heavy rainfall. 

MUMBAI: Water logging, trains running late and traffic jams again affected Mumbai’s normalcy as heavy rains continued on Monday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall along the western coast over the next 24 hours.

Water-logging has been reported at several places including Hindmata in Parel, Milan Subway in Andheri, Kings Circle in Sion and National college area.

According to reportsBEST has diverted some of the bus routes due to water logging in some areas.Trains are running late as tracks got waterlogged due to heavy rains.

Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde has announced holiday for schools, colleges in Mumbai.

The weather department has issued a five-day weather alert for Uttarakhand, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra region.

The Central Railway suburban and long distance train traffic was again hit after at least three signal poles fell down in the rains.

The busy Mumbai-Goa Highway was blocked for over three hours due to landslides or tree crashes resulting in massive traffic jams.

The National Disaster Management authority issued advisories for Assam, Mumbai, Goa, Uttarakhand and others as more rains are expected.
