LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched various projects worth 60,000 crore rupees at the ground-breaking ceremony in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow today.The projects aim to promote industrialisation and attracting investment in the country’s most populous state.
The ceremony was held to implement 81 of over 1,000 MoUs signed at the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit organised earlier this year. The projects are expected to create over 2 lakh jobs.
This is Modi’s fifth visit in the past one month to Uttar Pradesh, a state crucial to the BJP’s prospects ahead of next year’s general elections.
80 industrialists, including major firms such as Birla, Reliance and Adani, attended the ceremony alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The country is becoming the hub of mobile manufacturing and more than 50 mobile manufacturing units are there in Uttar Pradesh said Modi.

The prime minister will visit an exhibition on Flagship Missions of Urban Development. He will interact with 35 beneficiaries of PMAY (U), one from each state or union territory, the statement said.
The visit is the latest in a series of trips by the prime minister to Uttar Pradesh, as the ruling BJP prepares for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
