ARE WE RAISING A NATION ON CRUTCHES?

SHIMLA: Today as the political parties begin to roll out their manifestos for the ensuing assembly elections in five states which are being viewed as a prelude to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections next year, one wonders the ever appeasing tactics being employed by these politicians to weaken the country.

The 70 years of Independence has seen introduction of newer appeasing and endless promises being framed by all the parties across the board. One above the other, the parties are out to dangle carrots that the poorest of the poor yearn for.

Today as we go through the promises these manifestos galore,  one wonders what social growth and upliftment these doles have brought about among the downtrodden communities.

Have we, in India been able to win over the Kashmiri people for whom doles after doles have continued to be rolled out since independence?  With freebies continuing we have only enabled them to concentrate on anti national activities rather than on fulfilling the basic needs of life as the youth in other states are required to face. Have the appeasement policies ensured continuation of the ruling parties? At the end of the election days it has always been the voter who has the last laugh.

Certain issues that irk my thought process on the system are here to seek the readers’ views:

1. MANIFESTOS PREYING FOR VOTES.
PROMISES GALORE
FARMER LOANS NOT TO BE PAID BACK
FREE EDUCATION WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE
FREE LAPTOPS WITHOUT POWER AND MAINTENANCE
FREE MOBILE PHONES FOR DISTRACTIONS
FREE INTERNET FOR UNHEALTHY HABITS
DEGREES WITHOUT JOBS
RESERVATIONS WITHOUT JOBS

AREN’T WE CREATING A SOCIETY OF DISGRUNTLED YOUTH?
A SOCIETY OF BLIND FOLLOWERS?
ALWAYS DEPENDENT ON DOLES?

2. DALITS BEING APPEASED WITH
FREE EDUCATION
RESERVATIONS IN ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS
LOWER QUALIFYING PERCENTAGE
SUBSIDISED LOANS
RESERVATIONS IN EMPLOYMENT
RESERVATIONS IN PROMOTIONS
RESERVATIONS EVERYWHERE

BUT STILL THEY CONTINUE TO REMAIN DALIT.
WITH NUMBERS RISING
AND MORE CASTES LOOKING FOR RESERVATIONS.
AREN’T THE GOVERNMENTS PROMOTING A NATION ON CRUTCHES?
AN UNCOMPETITIVE SOCIETY?

3. KISAANS GET
LOAN WAIVERS
SUBSIDISED ELECTRICITY,  SUBSIDISED FERTILISERS,
SUBSIDISED SEEDS, WATER, LIBRAL SUPPORT PRICES (MSP)
SUBSIDISED BANK LOANS,
FREE EXPERTISE,
FREE TRAINING
TAX FREE INCOME.
HEALTH INSURANCE,
PENSIONS,
MANREGA AND WHAT NOT

BUT STILL THEY REMAIN POOR, WANTING, PROTESTING, AND COMMITTING SUICIDES.
AREN’T  GOVERNMENTS PROMOTING A NATION ON CRUTCHES?

Today let us delve on the success South Africa has witnessed after abolishing Apartheid only 28 years back under the African Gandhi Nelson Mandela. His views are expressed in the following words which have proved to be a guiding factor for the country.

“Why Reservations should be Abolished”? – NELSON MANDELA

When South Africa abolished Apartheid in 1990 under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, his supporters, mainly African Tribes, demanded Reservations in the education sector, govt sector & in private sector!

Nelson Mandela replied that he will not allow any type of Reservations in any sector i.e. in the education sector, in govt sector & in private sector at any cost, because Reservations & the products of Reservations will destroy the whole nation!

The famous statement of Nelson Mandela is displayed at the entrance of the University of South Africa thus:

“Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long-range missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students.”

* Patients die at the hands of such doctors.

* Buildings collapse at the hands of such engineers.

* Money is lost in the hands of such economists & accountants.

* Humanity dies at the hands of such religious scholars.

* Justice is lost at the hands of such judges…

“The collapse of education is the collapse of a nation.”

And what we, a nation which got freedom 70 years ago, preached but never practised have lead our country to.
