RSS General Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi said it was a “foregone conclusion” that there could not be anything else on the disputed site in Ayodhya but the Ram Temple.
NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Saturday re-elected Bhaiyyaji Joshi as general secretary or sarkaryawah of the organisation.The post of Sarkaryawah which is effectively the number two after Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat.
The Sangh’s general secretary is its executive head who looks after the day-to-day affairs of the organisation.Joshi was re-elected for a period of three years with his term expiring in 2021 in the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting in Nagpur. This will be his fourth term continuously as sarkaryawah.
Manmohan Vaidya, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh made the announcement at a press conference outside the RSS’ Smriti Mandir.
The RSS elects its only general secretary every three years at the all-important meeting of its delegates from its branches across the country.
Vaidya said that Ashok Soni, RSS head for central India, was the returning officer for the election process.Jayant Bhadesia, the Sangh chief for the west region, while referring to the achievements of the RSS during Joshi’s tenure, proposed his name for re-election.
