SJVN Pays Final Dividend To Government Of India-Rs. 864.56 Crores Total Payout For FY 2017-18

SHIMLA: On account of its annual financial performance for the year 2017-18, public sector SJVN Limited has  paid a total dividend of Rs.864.56 crores to its shareholders.

While the Company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 504.76 crores to Govt. of India holding 63.79% equity in the Company, the final dividend cheque for Rs. 50.13 crores was handed over to the Union Minister of State (I/C) Power and New & Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh by Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited at New Delhi on Tuesday.

On this occasion,  Secretary (Power ). A.K.Bhalla,, Joint Secretary (Hydro)  Aniruddha Kumar, and senior officials of the Ministry of Power besides  A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), R.K. Bansal Director (Electrical), Kanwar Singh, Director (Civil) and senior officials of SJVN were also present.

Handing over the cheque to the Union Minister of State for Power,   Nand Lal Sharma apprised him that construction activities at all the fronts of 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal and 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project were in full swing. SJVN is also making progress in bringing its other projects into construction stage.

Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and besides operating 2 power stations in Himachal Pradesh; the company is also executing projects in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand.  SJVN has also forayed in the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power.

The Company is presently generating 2003.2 MW of electricity from its operational projects which include 1912 MW from Hydro Power, 53.2 MW from Wind Power and 5.6 MW from Solar Power.
