Women in India are now a threatened lot. No security is being provided to her. Anytime, anything can happen to her.
Last night, my mother had a horrendous vision. Her sleep was a very disturbed one. This very vision was regarding the most disturbing of incidents recently in India. The four lettered word which all women dread was the focal point. Alas, ‘rape’ is now a stunning reality everywhere.
My God, and what’s terrible is the fact that it is perpetrated on very tender and innocent human beings like an eight month old, a four year old, an eight year old and so on and so forth with an endless listing. Girls, society claims are like Goddesses who bring life into this earth. But is there such a hurry to do so?
The rapist rapes and rapes a girl until her body is broken and bleeds? How can the rapist enjoy this ugly moment when the victim is screaming her guts out? What a psycho he must be? Or rather a sadist, enjoying pleasure when one suffers and that also to the core.
Women in India are now a threatened lot. No security is being provided to her. Anytime, anything can happen to her. We are known as the weaker sex, and are getting weaker and weaker in every way be it psychologically, mentally or physically. This word kills our inner conscience almost every day.
So tender are the organs of the victim that how could the accused dare to handle it in a rough way? And what’s worse is that there are no laws to deal with such a filthy crime? The accused escapes scot free after a brief while in the jail. Through this judgement the victim does not feel any guilt for this crime. There is no suffering; in fact jail life is one of bliss. Instant death should be the punishment for this victim so that others would not even think of committing such a crime.
A feminist theoretician Susan Brown Miller asserts that, “is not a crime of irrational, impulsive, uncontrollable lust, but is a deliberate, hostile, violent act of degradation and possession on the part of a would-be conqueror, designed to intimidate and inspire fear”.
Women have to boil themselves in an eternal fear of any unknown accomplice making advances on her. Women are not instruments for men to experiment on. All the governments’ efforts to ‘save the girl child’ would go in vain if these major issues remain unaddressed.
Abusing an organ is like abusing the creator himself! All things were made for a basic purpose of construction and not destruction. If the purpose of death to life is fulfilled then how can new life originate when the time is ripe?
