BJP Releases Manifesto For 2019 Elections, Focuses On Kashmir And Terrorism

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released its manifesto for the upcoming elections.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and other top leaders including Rajnath Singh Monday released the party’s manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2019.

The party also promised to make India the third largest economy globally by 2030 and scrap Article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir if it comes back to power.

The BJP said in its manifesto that it would work towards PM Modi’s vision to double farmers’ income by 2022.Its manifesto also mentioned the recently launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to ensure financial support to marginal or poor farmers who own land up to 2 hectares.

The manifesto also promised short-term new agriculture loans up to Rs 1 lakh at zero per cent interest rate for 1-5 years on conditions of prompt repayment of the principal amount.

The ‘Sankalp Patra’ comes three days before the first of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections begins (April 11).the BJP also resolved to annul Article 35A of the Constitution that says no outsider can own property in Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces will continue to get a free hand to deal with terrorism, the document stated.The party said it will implement NRC (National Register of Citizens) in a phased manner in various parts of the country.

The BJP has reiterated its promise of building the Ram Mandir. The BJP manifesto states that the party will explore all possible constitutional means to expedite the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.The BJP has also promised to assist the states in upgrading police forces through a ‘Scheme for Modernization of Police Forces’.
