Catch them young….to be better off…

By: Rajiv Saxena, Sr. Associate Editor-ICN

In pursuance of my pursuit for self sufficiency and sustainable agriculture to cope up the needs of food n fiber today and meet the impending challenges of food shortages as predicted for 2050 by concerned world bodies connected to this movement.

I was traveling in south east Asia starting from Bangkok to Laos..to see and learn for myself as to how these countries specially Thailand is taking short term and long term measures to cope up the situation which is looking at us in our face…

We can do it India as well we have the infra and young generation looking for work and jobs…but our agriculture field is doing far from being realistic….what agriculture prosperity can do to a nations economy is not seen or understood even now…

Through the kind courtesy of Miss. Tukky Verapon Incharge of Provincial administrative organization of govt.of Thailand ministry of agriculture..who oversees the eight schools where children of farmers are given education in all walks of agriculture and modern methods of growing everything which can grow . They are caught young and trained in various methods of high tech agriculture production… In return they go and teach n help their parents to adopt modern methods to increase the yield and quality of the agriculture produce…

Director of the institute Mr. Sawai , vice Director mr…… Mrs. Krujum…English teacher Mr. Prayoom along with Miss. Tukky Verapon southipeth..welcomed me to this wonderful institute..as ICN s senior Associate editor for media channel in a place called ……. Near Laos border….has over 700 children studying and doing practicals and so focused on the learning…
Govt of Thailand  and the King of thailands have Royal grants to educate their younger generation..in the agriculture…

The discipline, dedication and teaching methods are most modern and systematic which makes the job of learning so easy and pleasant for young minds and old alike…

They are the children of farmers they get education when they are young so they can help their parents and be self sufficient as farmers and contribute greatly to the nations economy…

We must learn from this and should introduce this system for our farmers children and be creative and innovative like Thailand farmers….can’t we Do it…..our farmers commit suicides. Their children look for menial jobs in cities…agricultural fabric of the nation is being torn apart instead of making a bag full grains n prosperity.
