Excellence with G.O.P.T.A.© Series: Part 64 (Power of self-discipline)

(In the past 2 articles of the series, we knew about how to use Law of Cause & Effect, popularly known as Law of Karma in your favour. Today, we will know about the power of self-discipline.

Power of self-discipline

Rejections, obstacles and failures are part of life and are bound to come across your way when you are on your journey towards your goals, still these should not determine your future course. How you handle these situations and how you respond, determines your success. You have to follow discipline of moving forward towards your goals on daily basis. Remember, success requires persistent actions over a reasonably long period of time.

Sometimes, you have to do some activities you don’t like, but you have to do these activities for achieving your goals. Suppose, your health goals require you to go for a morning walk but your body wants to sleep till 8 a.m. You should follow the discipline of waking up and go for a walk, instead of listening to your body.

Another example is doing daily exercise or doing regular meditation which are the needs of the body. Though, we all know that most of the people lack the daily discipline as far as physical exercises and meditation are concerned.

Here I would love to present a quote from my book ‘How to Add 50000 Productive Hours to Your Life’:-

“If today you do, what is required to be done, whether you like it or not; the day will come, when you will have all the time and resources to do, whatever you want to do and whenever you like to do. But, if today you don’t do, what is necessary to do; you will be compelled to do, what life throws upon you.”

I invite you to choose to discipline yourself to do something every day which takes you towards your life purpose. Doing at least something towards your life purpose should be on your daily priority list.  Small daily actions help you inculcate the belief that your goal is achievable. I repeat, as it is worth repeating, and as it is most close to my heart, “if today you do, what is required to be done, whether you like it or not; the day will come, when you will have all the time and resources to do, whatever you want to do and whenever you like to do. But, if today you don’t do, what is necessary to do; you will be compelled to do, what life throws upon you.”

(In the next article, we will know about the power of focus. I believe that you are enjoying the journey towards the future of your dreams with me. If yes, please stay tuned every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. Happy G.O.P.T.A.)
