PM Modi flags off Lucknow Metro’s commercial run on the 23-km North-South corridor on Friday.Metro services would remain suspended on Friday due to the inauguration ceremony. Full-fledged service will begin from Saturday.
LUCKNOW: The PM Modi will inaugurate the commercial run through video conferencing from Kanpur where he would be unveiling other development projects for the state.
LMRC MD Kumar Keshav said, “Lucknow Metro would be flagged off by PM Modi from Kanpur in the presence of Union home minister Rajnath Singh and chief minister Yogi at Chaudhary Charan Airport Metro station.”
PM Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi, Kanpur and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on Friday and unveil multiple development projects for the state.
The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has become the only one in the country to have completed the entire construction before time.
The 22.878-kmlong corridor, from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport to Munshi Pulia, is the last phase of LMRC construction.
“Metro will change the way Lucknowites travel. The 23-km ride from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia in 40 minutes would be a new chapter in the history of the state,” said Kumar Keshav, MD, LMRC.
Kumar Keshav said, “ LMRC also provides special transportation facility (office vehicle) to women employees when they have to work during odd hours. Every step is taken to ensure the safety of not only the women passengers but also the women employees of Lucknow Metro.”
