Secretary (Power), Formally Inaugurates ‘Shakti Sadan’, Corporate Office Complex Of SJVN

SHIMLA: Secretary (Power), Govt of India  Ajay Kumar Bhalla in the presence of Chairman & Managing Director  Nand Lal Sharma formally inaugurated  ‘Shakti Sadan’, the Corporate Office complex of SJVN at Shanan, Shimla. On this occasion, Director (Finance) A.S. Bindra, Director (Electrical),  R.K. Bansal, Director (Civil),  Kanwar Singh and Director(Personnel),  Geeta Kapur were also present.

Nand Lal Sharma, apprised the Secretary (Power), that the Office Building had been designed with Green Building Concept. With built up area of 15200 square meters to accommodate more than 500 employees, the building has many unique features like 100 KW Solar Energy System & 40 KW Solar Water Heating System for energy needs. A Sewerage Treatment Plant with capacity to recycle 90,000 liters of wastewater has also been installed in the building. The Office Complex also has composting machine for Solid Organic Waste Management with a capacity of 250 kg per day, and Rain Water Harvesting System for water conservation, which can store 50,000 liters of rain water.

In his address, Nand Lal Sharma, extended heartiest welcome to Ajay Kumar Bhalla and his wife Smt Jyoti Bhalla on behalf of all the Directors and employees of SJVN. He further elaborated on plans of SJVN whereby SJVN is targeting to become a  5000 MW generating company by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 and 25000 MW by 2040. He further said that SJVN has the expertise in executing, operating and maintaining Hydro Power Projects and is continuously setting up new benchmarks for the industry.

Secretary(Power), in his speech appreciated the concept and design of Shakti Sadan He also applauded the efforts of SJVN management for effective and efficient maintenance of country’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri HPS and 412 MW Rampur HPS which is operating in tandem. He said that the team spirit amongst SJVN employees is very high and will be a guiding force to take SJVN to new heights. He exhorted SJVN management to take up new projects in Himachal Pradesh as well as in other states of country and abroad. He also assured Team SJVN of full support of thr Ministry of Power in early clearances for 210 MW Luhri Hydro Electric Project (Stage -1).

Secretary(Power), was on a three days tour to SJVN Offices and Projects in Himachal Pradesh. During his visit, Bhalla dedicated 310 KW Solar Power Plant at Surge Shaft of 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri HPS and laid foundation Stone of 1 MW capacity Solar Power Project in Badhal, Distt Shimla. He also inaugurated Advance Flood Warning System in 412 MW Rampur HPS.
