SJVN Pays Rs. 158.25 Crore Interim Dividend Of Govt. of Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: On account of its financial performance for the year 2018-19 public sector SJVN Limited has declared an interim dividend of Rs. 589.47 Crore (@ 1.50 rupees per share) to its shareholders. Towards its equity holding of 26.85 %, the company has paid an interim dividend of Rs.158.25 Crore to the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.

The dividend cheque was handed over to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur by Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, today at Shimla in the presence of A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), A.K. Singh, Chief General Manager and other officers of SJVN.

Handing over the cheque Nand Lal Sharma informed that the the Government of Himachal Pradesh had already been paid a total dividend of Rs1643.31 Crore on an investment of Rs.1055 Crore. Currently Government of India is holding 62.44 % shares of company while 26.85% shares are with Government of Himachal Pradesh & 10.71% with public.

During the meeting Sharma also conveyed that SJVN would like to develop all the Power projects in Chenab River Basin if the Government of HP develops the transmission and other enabling infrastructure required for evacuation of Power and execution of projects.

Besides Himachal Pradesh, SJVN is presently executing projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Gujarat. The cumulative generation capacity of these projects will be 4798 MW.  SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating more than 2000 MW of electricity.
