SJVN Signs MOU With Himachal Government For Development Of Heritage Sites

SHIMLA: SJVN Foundation has signed a MoU with the Government of Himachal Pradesh for development of 4 heritage sites in the state. In terms of the MoU, the Foundation will contribute Rs. 1 Crore for development of these sites. The MoU was signed by  Awadhesh Prasad, AGM (CSR), SJVN and K. K. Sharma, Director (Language, Art & Culture), GoHP in the benign presence of Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh at Shimla.

The MOU provides for development of four cultural heritage sites namely, Sapni Fort, Sangla, Kinnaur; Parshuam Temple Complex, Nirmand, Kullu; Kalka-Shimla Railway World Heritage Site and Chhitkul Village, Kinnaur.

SJVN has been implementing its CSR activities in and around its areas of operations and making significant contribution in the improvement of quality of life of stakeholders undersix verticals viz health & hygiene, education & skill development, sustainable development, infrastructure & community development, promotion of culture, heritage & Sports, etc.

Under the cultural vertical, SJVN Foundation is supporting various international and national festivals like, International Lavi Fair, Rampur, Kullu Dussehra, Shimla Summer Festival, Kinnaur Mahotsav etc. To preserve the traditional culture, SJVN is extending a financial support of Rs. 2 Crore to Tara Mata temple complex at Shimla and Rs. 1 Crore to Bhima Kali Temple Complex at Sarahan. Further SJVN Foundation has also entered into an MOU for extending financial support of Rs. 1 Crore for Construction of a Multipurpose Stadium at Tattapani in Mandi District.
